A new baby turns everything upside down overnight. Flowers are a simple way to say you're thinking of them.
Hospital or home: when to send new baby flowers
Most people's first instinct is the maternity ward. It's worth a quick check before you order.
- Some maternity wards don't accept fresh flowers, and most rooms are short on space. Ask the family, or call the ward.
- Hospital stays after a birth can be short. If they might be home tomorrow, send the flowers home.
- For hospital delivery, include the parent's full name, the hospital, the ward and the room number if you know it.
Honestly, home delivery a week or two after the birth is often the better call. The first rush of visitors and messages has passed, everyone's running on no sleep, and a bouquet at the door lands beautifully. Add a delivery note like "please knock softly, baby sleeping" if you'd like the driver to skip the doorbell.
New baby flowers Sydney parents will actually have time for
Let's be real: a newborn doesn't leave much time for trimming stems and topping up vase water.
That's why potted orchid plants are one of our most practical new baby gifts. They arrive in a pot, need very little care and sit neatly on a bench. Choose a White Potted Orchid Plant (from $77) or a Colour Potted Orchid Plant (from $92). Our indoor plants collection has more low-fuss options.
If you'd rather send fresh flowers, add a Bouquet Vase Add-On so they can go straight onto the table. One less job for tired parents.
Choosing colours for a new arrival
You don't have to go pink or blue. Plenty of parents would rather have flowers that suit their home.
- Soft & Pastel is gentle and calm.
- Classic & White is fresh and clean.
- Pretty in Pink, if you know pink is their thing.
- Bright & Colourful, for something cheerful and celebratory.
Unsure? Our Signature Seasonal Bouquet is made with the season's best blooms, and each one's a bit different.
Gifts for the new mum and the baby
Once the baby arrives, the person who did all the work can get a bit forgotten. A small gift just for them goes a long way.
Our newborn baby and new mum gifts include nursing balm, muslin wraps, soft toys and baby milestone cards, chosen to sit alongside flowers. Add a Baby Greeting Card for a proper message.
Don't forget the older kids
If there's already a child at home, they're going through a big change too. Add a soft toy from our gift range and put their name on the card as well. It's a small thing, and parents notice it.

Delivered across Sydney
We deliver from our Northbridge studio across the North Shore and wider Sydney. Check your suburb on our delivery areas page.
We also deliver to maternity wards at public and private hospitals. Check the ward accepts flowers before you order, and include the parent's full name, ward and room number. If they're heading home in a day or two, delivering to the house is often easier.

Newborn Baby and New Mum Flowers & Gifts Sydney FAQ
Can you deliver new baby flowers to a maternity ward?
Yes, we deliver to hospitals across Sydney. Please check with the family or the ward first, as some maternity wards don't accept fresh flowers. Include the parent's full name, the hospital, the ward and the room number if you know it.
Are flowers or a plant better for a new baby gift?
Both are lovely. A potted orchid plant (from $77) is the low-fuss choice: no vase, very little care. A fresh bouquet (from $127) feels more celebratory. If you choose a bouquet, add a vase so the new parents don't have to find one.
What should I write on a new baby card?
Keep it warm and simple. "Welcome to the world, little one" or "Congratulations, we can't wait to meet them" both work. Include the baby's name if you know it, and add your message at checkout.
Can I add a gift for the new mum or the baby?
Yes. Our newborn baby and new mum gifts include nursing balm, muslin wraps, soft toys and milestone cards, and they can go out with your flowers in the same delivery.
Do you provide flowers for baby showers, christenings and other baby milestones?
Yes, we design custom flowers for baby showers, christenings and other private baby celebrations. Send us an enquiry with your date, venue and the look you're after.

For orders placed after the cut off time, they will be delivered the next available delivery day.
With fresh, perishable flowers and a focus on quality, we service flower delivery to within Sydney NSW.
What happens after I place an order online for flowers?
You will receive an email confirmation of your flower order.
If you selected to pick up the flowers and specified a date and approximate time period during checkout, we will have your flowers designed and ready to be picked up on the specified date. If we are missing details from you, we will contact you to confirm your pick up.
If you selected local courier delivery, your flowers will be transported from our shop in Northbridge to the delivery location by either someone on our team or one of our trusted courier partners. Delivery occurs usually between 8am - 5pm. If you have a preferred time window or cutoff, you can let us know upon checkout. We do our best to accomodate for any preferences where realistically possible, and will contact you if there is an issue.
After a delivery has been completed, we will notify you usually via SMS or email if overseas, along with a photo of the bouquet we designed.
Will the flowers I order look like the photos?
The photos online are for colour & textural inspiration - with flowers being seasonal, exact varieties will vary based on its availability and quality throughout the year. We strive our best to substitute for something similar to what you see in the photos at different times of the year. If there's a particular photo or flower in a photo that you love, please let us know when adding to cart. We ALWAYS do our best to cater for preferences, and will inform you prior to designing if a request is not possible.
We also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If your recipient isn't happy with their flowers, we'll do our best to make sure the issue is resolved.
How do you ensure the flowers will survive a delivery?
For all deliveries, we wrap the stems of the bouquet in a water pouch that is biodegradable and simple to remove upon delivery. The level of water in the pouch varies with the distance and types of flowers. This helps the flowers keep fresh in transit as much as possible. We keep bouquets upright during delivery to ensure the stems continue drinking throughout.
Each bouquet comes with a Flower Care Card which details instructions to the recipient on how to take care of their flowers after unwrapping.
What happens if no one is home for the delivery?
This is a very common delivery scenario. Typically there is a safe place to leave the flowers.
If it's a house, we find a shaded spot undercover near the front door or similar.
If an apartment, either at the lobby or we try to buzz a neighbouring unit, to enable us to leave the flowers inside the secure building or at the unit's door.
We usually attempt to contact the recipient to let them know that something has been delivered (unless directed otherwise).
In the absolute worst case scenario, a re-attempt of delivery will be organised at an additional fee for a subsequent date or time. We will always contact you if this is the case.
